Dynamometer

The Kistler 9255B Dynamometer is used for dynamic and quasi-static measurement of the 3 orthogonal components of a force, cutting force measurement on larger workpieces, punching and press forces and supporting forces at machine foundations. It can measure force components up to 20 KN in-plane and 40 KN normal to the plane. Also a 4-channel Charge Amplifier is used for cutting force measurement with Kistler 9255B Dynamometer. At CAD CAM Laboratory, Kistler 9255B Dynamometer is used for dynamic force measurement of various metal cutting operations including turning, milling and drilling. The cutting force data will be used for further in-process or off-process investigations such as: estimation of machined surface roughness, chatter vibration occurrence and defining the stability limits of cutting operations.
