Introduction
Established in 2000, the CAD CAM Laboratory is located in the department of Mechanical Engineering of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The CAD CAM lab allows students and faculty to work with the latest Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided-Manufacturing (CAM) equipment including a 3-axis CNC Milling Center, a 3D contact digitizing system, a CNC Desktop Lathe Machine, an EDM, a Surface Grinding Machine as well as CAD PC stations equipped with the latest CAD/CAM/FEM/Visualization software and computer vision systems.

Objective
The applications of computers are growing in all branches of industry. Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided-Manufacturing (CAM) were developed in order to shorten the process of designing and manufacturing. The main objective of the CAD CAM Laboratory is to provide students with the knowledge and techniques of versatile applications of CAD CAM systems including Parts and Assemblies Design, Numerical Control and High Speed Machining, Simulation of various Metal Cutting Processes and Chatter Vibration, Virtual Reality and Reverse Engineering.
